The following are short biographies of current members of The Deva Partnership Ltd.
Ian Taylor
Ian is a core member and founder of The Deva Partnership Ltd. Ian specialises in releasing the creative potential of people and organisations, beginning with the premise that everyone can contribute creatively to the competitive advantage of their organisation. Everyone can be a player. Ian challenges organisations in the process of change and renewal to develop the necessary conditions for innovation, aligning individual aspiration and energy to the organisation's objectives. He has developed effective methodologies for working through these issues with organisations which move them from aspiration to reality. This results in actual changes that make a difference.
Karen Jackson
Dr. Karen Jackson is co-founder and Director of The Deva Partnership Ltd. The main theme of ‘The Power of Difference’ was the result of her research for her DPhil. After a career in human resources management in the private and public sectors, including The Work Foundation, she studied for an MBSc. at Manchester Business School and set up her own consultancy in 1985. Teams are her special interest because of the challenge they pose for harnessing diverse energies in problem solving to produce optimum results where all team members have contributed to the solution.
Robert Maguire
Commencing his career in purchasing, Robert was soon at the cutting edge of supply chain management and partnership initiatives. He has transferred these skills to create an approach to working with teams - challenging individuals to be inclusive rather than exclusive in their behaviour and thinking - in difficult negotiating and problem-solving situations.
Janet Izatt
Janet is a communication specialist. In her career she has migrated from business journalism to information and knowledge management. Her work now focuses on person-to-person and business-to-business relationships: helping people and organisations negotiate agreements, resolve conflicts and deliver results. Since becoming an independent advisor Janet has worked with clients in the airline, distribution, public transport and financial services sectors. Her work focuses on assisting clients to deal with real problems, real time, often through role-play, feedback and coaching.
Nigel Barlow
Nigel Barlow is the Deva expert on creative approaches to customer service and loyalty. He brings to bear experience of working worldwide in over twenty different countries with world class organisations. His work focuses on bringing passion, and even obsession to this area and enlivening the deeper value of service in individuals and organisations. He is the Deva specialist on giving large keynote presentations to audiences of up to a thousand. He also, by himself or with Ian, designs and runs interactive events for launching strategic initiatives.
