who we are - what is success?
Success is very personal. People who feel that their life is a success are in a state of contentment, often happy. Success is not the same as being successful, which is generally recognised by society in material terms. Hence, you can be successful and feel that you are not a success. Successful organisations are generally considered to be those that are profitable, increase shareholder value, etc. However the top team and other members of the organisation might not be experiencing success. They could be experiencing varying degrees of discontentment resulting in low energy and negative attitudes and apathy. Hence a successful organisation may actually be in a state of decline leading to sustained failure. This is why it is important to think through how to achieve continuing success, ie. to be successful and experience continuing success.
